BAYRIDERS SIGN UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH PANTHER

The Bayriders end 2011 on a high note by signing former University of Pittburgh Panther Derrick "FLASH" Bradley to the 2012 Bayriders roster. Bradly will contribute at WR and DB along side standout My'Keal Purnell , the former track star and current law school student is the fastest player on the current roster and the team hopes the fastest in the league. The former Panther brings speed as well as physical presence to the team , watching the 6'3" 225lb Bradley run is a thing of beauty . The club doesn't see Bradley as a Bayrider past 2012 because of his talent he should be in camp at the next level next year. But as for 2012 look for Bradley to set the indoor war on fire from both sides of the ball.

PREPARATIONS BEGIN ON "TACKLING CHILDHOOD CANCER "GAME
It's official the delmarva Bayriders have begun planning and preparations for a charity game known as of right now for planning purposes as the "Tackling childhood Cancer" game . The game is being tentatively planned for February in Ocean City MD , and the staff and players are extremely excited to take the field of battle to raise money and awareness for a great cause . Bayriders Gaurd Shane Wootten said of the event " this is great I've pushed for an event like this since joining the team in 2007 , this cause is one of my favorites an i cant wait to see this event be a success, no matter when or where we have this event im sure the community will come out to support this event". Even in the planning stages the event the Bayriders are being met with open arms so far 4 teams have already reached out to the Bayriders to compete in this event. Bayriders WR/DB My'Keal Purnell made this statement about the event " I will play this game as if it were the Superbowl , you don't get a chance to play for something as good as this that often im gonna give everything  I have ". Stay tuned for more information.

BAYRIDERS LOSE 2 IN CARDINALS MATCH UP

In a game defined but hard hitting the Delmarva Bayriders lost 2 players to injury on back to back plays . Linebacker Brenty James #55 went down with a knee injury then 1 play later WR/DB Mykel Purnell left the game with a concussion. After both players recieved medical attention however the outlook is good , Purnell will miss 2 weeks and James will be out 2-4 with a bruised knee cap. The Bayriders will continue to build for the up coming season in March.

BAYRIDERS OPEN PRESEASON AGAINST FORCE

On October 8, 2011 at 3pm the Delmarva Bayriders will kick off their 2011 preseason against the Maryland Force in Frederick MD. When the Bayriders take the field fans will see a lot of new faces donning the burgandy and gold , in the off season the Bayriders added talent and depth to both sides of the ball in the hopes of building a team to again compete for a league championship much like the 2010 team. Among the rookies expected to make an impact on the Bayriders is wr/db My'keal Purnell and rb/lb Bobby Kenton , Purnell is a fast , strong , inteligent player who the Bayriders expect to put a ton of points on the board from both sides of the ball, Kenton is a big and strong  player searches for contact whether he has the ball or is hawking down ball carriers. The mix of young and old talent should make for an explosive team when the Bayriders take the field.

BAYRIDERS DROP CLOSE GAME  AGAINST D.C.
On March 27, 2011 the Delamarva Bayriders professional football team traveled to Freestate Arena to take on the D.C. Nemesis , during the snowy trip to the arena hopes were high for the game ,however; fate and the Nemisis had other plans. In what started out looking like it was goin to be an offensive fireworks show, with D.C. scoring ontheir first drive and the Bayriders answering returning the following kick off for a score, then to follow that the Nemisis drove the ball down the field to score again to make the score 13-6. Thats when the offense for both teams
slowed to a halt, in the following drive the Bayriders drove down the field only to have a touchdown completion on 4th and goal from Horton to Fountain called incomplete with the official explanation being that Fountain hit hit the wall before his feet touched the ground. The Bayriders Defense led by Joey Costa tightened down to continually give the ball back to Horton and the offense ,however, with dropped passes and multiple bad snaps the Bayriders were unable to capitalize on anything. Heading into week 3 the Bayriders will work to fix their offensive woes .

FORMER INDOOR PLAYER  MAKING A SPLASH IN THE NFL
Washington Redskins wide receiver Anthony Armstrong is making a splash in the NFL  and making it look easy ,however it wasn't a easy road to get to this point. Coming out of division II West Texas A&M University Armstrong's only choice to continue playing football was the Odessa Roughnecks of the IFL and Armstrong took the oppurtunity and ran with it . After playing 2 seasons in the indoor game perfecting his craft Armstrong got his shot at the NFL and hasn't looked back. The Indoor game has proven to be an excellent training ground for future NFL stars ,one of the most notable Kurt Warner . Good luck to all of the former indoor and current NFL players.
